Thanksgiving up north

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. With the unusually high temperatures here in southern Ontario, I enjoyed a few days of relaxation at my in-laws’ cottage up north celebrating both Canadian Thanksgiving (complete with vegan options) and my husband’s birthday. He’s not much for overly-sweet birthday cakes, so he made his usual request: lemon tarts.

I have a special lemon tart recipe I use for special occasions, and it’s always a hit. My husband participated in my food photo shoot this time around (it’s great to have an assistant!) and insisted that I take some photos of the tart on the big rock near the water. Here’s the beautiful photo he took:

Because it’s the season for pumpkin and fall spices, I also baked up Angela’s mini spiced pumpkin doughnuts. Yum!

I also managed to spend some time playing with my new Nikon 105mm. This time of year is so beautiful! Enjoy.
