Ebook outtakes

Many of you may already know that Lisa and I have been working behind the scenes on a few extra projects this year. The one that has taken up the most time–and that we started back in March–is a compilation of new recipes for our very first ebook. We have spent countless hours dreaming up creative flavour combinations, measuring and re-measuring ingredients and sharing some of these sweet treats with participants of our Treat of the Month Club.

Each of the 25 dessert recipes in the ebook has been carefully crafted, but our aim was also to share our secrets for creating sensational results using whole foods and unprocessed ingredients.

Last weekend, when most people were relaxing at cottages or spending time in the sun, Lisa, Marika and I piled up our pretty plates, cutlery, textiles and treats for a weekend of styling and photographing plate after plate of our final recipes.

Now that we’re in editing mode, I thought I’d share some of my photos that didn’t make the cut.

We plan on releasing the finished product in September, right in time for our cooking demo at the 28th Annual Toronto Vegetarian Food Festival. Our demo will be happening on Saturday, September 8 at noon at Harbourfront! Check out the festival website for other amazing speakers and performers, including Colleen Partrick-Goudreau, Terry Hope Romero, Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Victoria Moran. Of course, we can’t forget the hundreds of vendors and free food, too.
